Why a Jaguarundi?
A wild cat of Central and South America that doesn't look much like a cat at all. Jaguarundis are long, low-bodied, and otter-like, with short rounded ears and uniform coats in gray, red, or black. They're unusually active during the day for a wild cat, and they make a wide variety of vocalizations including chirps, whistles, and a sound that resembles a bird's song.
Did you know
The Jaguarundi is sometimes called the "weasel cat" or "otter cat" because of its unusual body shape. Despite its name, it's not closely related to the jaguar. Recent DNA analysis suggests its closest living relative is actually the cougar.
