Iberian Lynx
Wild species · No. 65 / 89
The rarest pull in the album. Most people never draw one. You had about a 1-in-13 chance of drawing Iberian Lynx as The Dreamer — one of 5 cats you could have become.
You spend a lot of your day in places no one else can see. You write things in your head that don't quite make it to paper. You notice the way light hits a building, the unsaid thing in a conversation, the song playing under everything else. The people who love you have learned not to interrupt the staring-out-the-window phases. That's where your best work happens.
Why a Iberian Lynx?
Once the world's most endangered cat species. Iberian Lynxes are found only in southern Spain and Portugal, and at one point in the early 2000s, fewer than 100 remained in the wild. They have spotted coats, dramatic facial ruffs, and tufted ears, and they specialize in hunting one specific animal, the European rabbit.

The Iberian Lynx is one of conservation's most dramatic success stories. From fewer than 100 individuals in 2002, careful breeding and reintroduction programs have brought the population back to over 1,600 by 2024.
