Why a Jungle Cat?
A medium-sized wild cat found across the Middle East, Caucasus, and parts of South Asia. Despite the name, Jungle Cats don't actually live in true jungle. They prefer wetlands, reed beds, and grasslands near water. They're adaptable, opportunistic, and surprisingly comfortable around humans, sometimes hunting in agricultural fields and irrigation canals.
Did you know
Jungle Cats were considered sacred in ancient Egypt and were often mummified alongside humans. Egyptian art frequently depicts Jungle Cats helping with bird hunts in the marshes of the Nile, suggesting they may have been semi-domesticated thousands of years ago.
