A familiar favorite — the cat you're most likely to find. You had about a 1-in-4 chance of drawing Cornish Rex as The Joyful Optimist — one of 5 cats you could have become.

You're not naive. You decided a while back that you'd rather find the bright thread in a thing than the dark one. People are surprised by how much of life genuinely makes you happy. Small dogs, weird clouds, songs that hit right, friends who answer the phone. Your good mood is the kind that catches, and it doesn't take a lot to maintain.

Why a Cornish Rex?

A slim, athletic cat with a uniquely curly coat that has no outer guard hairs, just a soft inner down. Cornish Rex cats are exuberant, playful, and warm both literally and figuratively. Their bodies feel notably hot to the touch because there's so little fur insulating them.

Did you know

The Cornish Rex breed began with a single curly-coated kitten named Kallibunker, born in a litter of otherwise normal cats on a Cornish farm in 1950. The owner recognized the unusual coat was genetically inherited and worked with breeders to establish a recognized breed.
