Sphynx
Domestic breed · No. 74 / 89
A little less often seen — a nice find. You had about a 1-in-5 chance of drawing Sphynx as The Joyful Optimist — one of 5 cats you could have become.
You're not naive. You decided a while back that you'd rather find the bright thread in a thing than the dark one. People are surprised by how much of life genuinely makes you happy. Small dogs, weird clouds, songs that hit right, friends who answer the phone. Your good mood is the kind that catches, and it doesn't take a lot to maintain.
Why a Sphynx?
The famously bald cat breed. Sphynxes have no full coat, just a fine peach-fuzz layer, and they're known for being exceptionally warm, affectionate, and social. They love attention, they love people, and they often greet visitors at the door.
Did you know
The Sphynx breed traces back to a single hairless kitten named Prune, born to a black domestic cat in Toronto in 1966. Despite the breed's appearance, Sphynxes are not Egyptian. The name comes from the cats' resemblance to the iconic Egyptian sculpture.
