Oriental Shorthair

Domestic breed · No. 77 / 89

Uncommon · tier 2 of 4

A little less often seen — a nice find. You had about a 1-in-3 chance of drawing Oriental Shorthair as The Night Owl — one of 4 cats you could have become.

The world makes more sense to you after dark. You do your best thinking past 11 p.m. Your friends know not to text you before noon unless something is on fire. You like quiet streets, lamplight, the way music sounds louder in headphones at night. Mornings happen to you. Evenings are yours.

Why a Oriental Shorthair?

A slim, elegant breed closely related to the Siamese, but available in over 300 color combinations. Oriental Shorthairs are intelligent, vocal, and active. They tend to be busiest in the early morning and late evening, and they often choose one human as their primary person and follow them constantly.

Did you know

Oriental Shorthairs were developed in the 1950s as breeders sought to expand the Siamese into new colors and patterns. Genetically they're essentially Siamese cats without the pointed coloration, and they share the same vocal, social personality.
