Singapura
Domestic breed · No. 53 / 89
A little less often seen — a nice find. You had about a 1-in-5 chance of drawing Singapura as The Sun Worshipper — one of 5 cats you could have become.
You find the warmest patch in any room within thirty seconds of arriving. Good food, good naps, sun through a window in winter, the right blanket on the right couch. These are not small things to you. People who don't slow down probably miss most of what's worth being alive for, and you decided a while ago not to be one of them.
Why a Singapura?
The smallest recognized cat breed, often weighing just four to six pounds at adulthood. Singapuras have huge eyes, big ears, and a warm-toned ticked coat. They're affectionate, curious, and especially fond of warm places. Laps, sunny windows, freshly laundered towels.
Did you know
The Singapura takes its name from the Malay word for Singapore, where its ancestors are believed to have lived as street cats for generations. The breed was developed and officially recognized in the United States in the 1980s.
