Why a Bornean Bay Cat?
One of the rarest and most elusive wild cats in the world. The Bornean Bay Cat lives only on the island of Borneo, in dense rainforest, and there have been so few sightings that scientists know almost nothing about its behavior. The first photograph of a living one wasn't taken until 1998.
Did you know
There are believed to be fewer than 2,500 Bornean Bay Cats left in the wild, and almost everything we know about them comes from a handful of camera-trap images. They have rich rusty-red coats and bright, almost glowing yellow eyes.
